Robert “Bob” Campisi, born in Brooklyn, NY on September 25, 1928, passed away in Orting, Washington on September 6, 2021, just shy of his 93rd birthday. This day would have been his 69th wedding anniversary; Ann Campisi passed away on May 11, 2018.
Bob grew up in Brooklyn, the son of a grocer. He had three brothers, one half brother and one half sister. He joined the Navy in 1951, and married Ann Gasser in September, 1952. He became a Draftsman, and later an Architect working independently, and for Jefferson County School District in Colorado, then for the U.S. Government with the Bureau of Indian Affairs and finally with the National Park Service, also in Colorado. Bob designed and collaborated with several other architects at the NPS at various National Parks including: Yellowstone, Crater Lake, Glacier, Pearl Harbor, Denali, Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Mt. Rainier, Williamsburg, George Washington’s Birthplace,
He has always been an avid artist with drawings and sketches. He also enjoyed watercolors and wood carving. Other hobbies included touring the Country with Ann on their Honda Goldwing motorcycle, and building and flying Radio Controlled airplanes.
Bob is survived by his three adult children: Barbara Masinton of Tijeras, New Mexico; Linda Fender of Orting, Washington; Robert Campisi of Bonney Lake, Washington; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
