Rose Fleischmann Obituary

Rose Marie Fleischmann passed away on July 2, 2021 at her home in Enumclaw. She was born on February 26, 1935, in Almena, Kansas to Earl and Thelma (Goldsberry) Eldred. Rose lived in Almena, Kansas until she was three years old. Her family relocated to Omak, Washington when her father took a new position in the lumber industry. Rose grew up in Omak and graduated from Omak High School in 1953.

Rose met Fred after the summer of her sophomore year. Date nights were often walking to the local movie theater. Rose and Fred dated all through high school. Attending separate colleges, Rose would catch a ride from friends to see Fred at Washington State University, staying with girlfriends in the dorm rooms, so she and Fred could attend the school dances together. Rose attended for two years at Eastern Washington University. On September 3, 1955, Rose and Fred pledged their eternal love for each other at the Methodist church in Omak. Faith was the foundation of their 65-year marriage. Rose transferred for her junior year at WSU to be with Fred and returned to graduate from Eastern Washington State when Fred was stationed at Giger Field Air Force Base.

Rose always had a heart for children, teaching deaf and blind students and children with orthopedic needs. She constantly inspired and created positive experiences when teaching preschool, substitute teaching, and with her grandchildren.

Rose always put family first and served her community in various ways. She was instrumental in starting up several preschool programs still operational today. She brought joy and life to everyone she encountered. We were blessed to have her as a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Rose is survived by her husband, Fred Fleischmann; son, Jeff Fleischmann; daughter, Jann Schosboek; grandchildren, Rose Brogan, Christopher Bray, Elizabeth Colleran, Victoria Bray, Andrew Schosboek, and Logan Schosboek; great-grandchildren, Francesca Brogan, Natalie Colleran, and Corinna DeCarlo. She is survived by her sisters, Linda Dezelum and Mary Barden.
