Shirley Coleman Obituary

“A grandma is warm hugs and sweet memories. She remembers all of your accomplishments and forgets all of your mistakes.” Those lucky enough to call Shirley Alice Coleman mom and grandma, know this all too well. Shirley was born to Clarence and Ruth Peterson on May 2, 1939 by the waters of Sturgeon Bay, WI.

“Grandmothers always have time to talk and make you feel special” something Shirley lived by, always making time for those she loved be that spending time shopping or just a phone call to see how someone she loved was feeling. Shirley loved to love, spend time with her friends, do crosswords, play solitaire, and spend time outside just watching the world go by.

Those left to love and remember Shirley are her daughters, Karen Pyl and husband Bernie and Karla VanDyk; son, Keith VanDyk and wife Denise; 10 cherished grandchildren and 4 beloved great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Laverne Vandermause and Audrey Hasenjager.

Please share a memory of Shirley on the tribute wall.
