Stephanie Van Wieringen Obituary

Stephanie Van Wieringen, our loving Wife, Mother, Grandma, Great Grandma, Sister, Aunt and Friend went home to be with the Lord on January 17, 2022, at the age of 94.

Stephanie was the third child born to John and Anna Mantel. She was born December 7, 1927, in Enumclaw, WA. In 1945, she met her future husband, Jim Van Wieringen and they married in 1946.

Jim and Stephanie purchased Boise Creek Farms in 1956. Together they raised two daughters and two sons. Stephanie loved gardening, baking, and her passion for making Christmas cookies was always the highlight of the holidays. Jim and Stephanie also enjoyed traveling in their motorhome and eventually purchased a home in Yuma, AZ.

A devoted wife and family woman, Stephanie had a loving and close relationship with all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her family. She enjoyed playing cards, doing puzzles, and going to Slovenian gatherings. She made a lasting impression on everyone she met and will be missed dearly.

Stephanie is survived by sons Eddie Van Wieringen of Federal Way and John Van Wieringen of Enumclaw; daughter, Debbie Mallery of Enumclaw; eight grandchildren: Kevin Mallery of San Diego, Keith Mallery (Tracy) of Maple Valley, Jason Haubry (Olga) of Kirkland, Joshua Haubry (Jennifer) of Federal Way, Rebecca Haubry-Schafer (Ken) of Waterville, Cori Finnegan (Derrick) of Bonney Lake, Kellen Van Wieringen of Portland, and Kramer Van Wieringen (Gisel) of Enumclaw; eight great grandchildren: Taylor and Mason Mallery, Ethan and Sasha Haubry, Kaysen and McKinley Finnegan, and Everley and Marcella Van Wieringen; sisters, Mary Douglas and Rosie Owings; brother, Al Mantel; and a large extended family.
