Steven Collier Obituary

Steven Randall Collier 52, of Maple Valley, WA lost his 3 week long battle with COVID-19 on August 20, 2021. Steve (Randy to his family) was born on April 6, 1969, to Gail Massey Buckles and Joe Brace.

He leaves a huge hole in the hearts of his family and friends with his sense of humor and sincere compassion, he truly was a man among men and larger than life.

He was highly driven and excelled in whatever he put his mind to. Whether it was, defending his Country as a Marine, becoming Valedictorian of Surgical Tech school (which wasn't his forte'), riding bulls, competing in Jiu Jitsu competitions, getting his master’s degree in Computer Programming, or educating himself about being a farmer. He had a huge passion for baseball whether it be watching, playing, or coaching, he just loved the game.

The only thing that he didn't excel at was singing. But it wasn't for lack of trying, though he made a few ears bleed in the process and yet we are going to miss it so much.

His most important and precious thing in life though, was being a good father to William, as well as being an amazing husband to his late wife, Jennifer. Being a good family man was all he ever wanted to be in life, and he made sure that he was.

He was sweet, tough, funny, dorky, and always sentimental. The best son a mother could have, as well as the best brother, husband, father, fiancé, and friend.

Steve left California in 2017 to start a life in Washington, which he fell in love with and quickly made lifelong friends. He was employed by Long Painting Company in Kent, WA. He was loved and respected by the owner and his co-workers, and he felt the same about them.

He is preceded in death, by his beloved late wife, Jennifer; father, Joe Brace; and grandparents Troy and Zelma Massey.

He is survived by his son, William Collier; mother, Gail Massey Buckles and her husband, Tony Buckles; fiancé, Cari Korpi and her sons, Rylan, Drake and Brant; sisters, Shawnee Austin and Jody Krohn; brother, Jeff Brace and his wife, Jewelli; nieces, Rachell Mack, Carre Hansen, Audrey Austin, Kelsey Brace, and Brittany Brace; nephew, JJ Krohn; great nieces, Zadea, Zamari and MacKenzie; great nephew Jack; and a multitude of amazing friends, including Jeff and Shawndee Medeiros and Brad and Lorie Taylor who were family to him.

There will not be a day that he won't be missed here on Earth, and we will always love him and keep him in our hearts.
