Steven Lewis Post, known to his loved ones as Steve, passed away on August 20, 2023, at the age of 73 in Ravensdale, Washington. He was born on July 18, 1950, in Westbrook, Maine. Steve was a kind and loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He always had a helping hand ready for those in need, whether it was fixing cars, providing firewood, lending tools, assisting with moves, or any other kind gesture.
Steve attended Evergreen High School in Burien, WA, where he graduated in 1968.
In his career Steve worked in the construction industry as a pipelayer and heavy equipment operator until his retirement in 2012. Prior to that, he held various positions, including working at Mar-Lac, an auto parts distribution warehouse in Seattle, WA, an auto parts store in Kent, WA, and as a tow truck driver in Seattle, WA.
In the winter when the construction industry slowed due to the weather, Steve would work countless hours to cut, split, stack, and sell cords of firewood to provide for his family.
In his free time, Steve stayed very active in hobbies that brought him joy and relaxation. He had a passion for woodworking, poker, motorcycles, classic cars, books, westerns, classic rock, and board games. He also loved watching the Mariners and Seahawks play.
Steve grew up attending Glendale Lutheran Church in Burien, WA, and more recently, he found solace in worship at New Life Church in Renton, WA.
Steve is survived by his former spouse Joni Campbell and their three children: daughter Heidi (Post) Cecil, sons Adam Post and Spencer Post; six grandchildren: Aiden, Ava, Audrina, Riley, Hailey and Astrid; and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Paul B. Post; his mother Alice Sherbon; his brothers Paul D. Post and Richard Post; his sister Wanda Goudie; uncles Richard (Rich) Dyrdahl and Robert (Bob) Dyrdahl; as well as nephew Timothy Goudie and niece Emily Goudie.
Steve will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched with his kindness and generosity. May his memory be a blessing to us all.
