Theodore Frantz Glandon, known by those he loved as Ted, died on December 31, 2018. He was 79 years old. Born on January 28, 1939 to Francis and Margaret (Frantz) Glandon, Ted had long called the Pacific Northwest home. A hardworking bread truck driver and giving family man, Ted filled his life with being kind and patient towards others. He loved to fish, spending hours on the river waiting for his diligence and persistence to be rewarded with the perfect salmon. Adventure and the outdoors continuously called to Ted throughout his life and he answered not only with rod and reel but by other more heartfelt measures. Every summer was spent volunteering with the Stanley Stamm Summer Camp teaching children impacted by complex medical conditions to ride horses and simply enjoy being children. Ted’s patient, generous, and immensely kind nature was a gift easily given to those around him. A wise man, his was time well spent. Whether it was whisking Beverly away to see whatever they could of the world, keeping his hands busy with woodworking or other bits of tinkering, or nibbling on Circus Peanuts, Ted loved, enjoyed, and embraced every minute. Those lucky to continue loving Ted are his beautiful wife Beverly Glandon; his children Tim (Christina) Glandon, Terry (Debbie) Glandon, Lisa Guthmiller, and Todd (Kristin) Glandon; his step-children Marie (Steve) Nuss and Scott (Susanne) Schlag; his brother Carl (Judy) Glandon; and sixteen beautiful grandchildren and four loving great-grandchildren. Remembrances for Ted can be made to The Seattle Children’s Stanley Stamm Summer Camp at www.giveto.seattlechildrens.org/StammCamp50.
Funeral services will be held at St. Barbara Catholic Church in Black Diamond on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. followed by burial at Black Diamond Cemetery.
