On the evening of November 4th, 2020, Thursa June (Hall) Ormberg passed away at the age of 92. Thursa was born to Gervase Flower and Ellen Amanda (Crandall) Hall on May 21st, 1928 in Freehold, New York. In 1935 the family (and dog Freckles) moved to Seattle by train. They lived for a time in the J.W. Bullock Residence (an Uncle) on Capitol Hill where Thursa and her sister Doris attended the St. Nicholas girls’ school while her other sister Audrey and brother Tommy were still at home. In 1937, the family purchased a farm (Sunny Hill) in Redmond, Washington where they lived for 50 years. Thursa attended Pacific College in Tacoma, WA. She is best remembered by the Redmond community as the Office Manager and Veterinary Technician at the Redmond Animal Clinic where she worked for 30 years. Thursa (Auntie Sis) loved her extended family, nieces, nephews, and many friends. She loved nature and animals, with an ardent love of horses. She even delivered the Seattle Times on horseback. She and her sister Doris spent many hours on horseback riding all over the Redmond, Kirkland, and Bellevue area. Thursa also had thoroughbreds at Longacres. She traveled to countless horse shows with her daughter Wendy. Thursa and Chris moved to Enumclaw in 1987 where she lived until her death. Thursa is preceded in death by her husband Chris Ormberg; sister Audrey; and brother Tom. She is survived by her sister Doris; sister-in-law Suzanne Hall; daughter Wendy and son-in-law John Bitney; and grandsons Anders and Connor.
A celebration of her life will be held the weekend of May 21st, 2021, in Enumclaw. Memorials can be made to any organization supporting children, the environment, or equine and canine rescue organizations. Please share a memory on the tribute wall.
