Wanda Fay (Brooks) Johnson

Wanda McGehee Johnson was born on Oct. 27, 1939 in San Jose, CA to Walter and Edith Brooks. She was the third child of six children. She met and married Air Force serviceman Melvin McGehee on April 2, 1955. They had two children, Doug and Debbie. While in the service they explored several different cultures. After retirement they settled in Happy Camp, CA until Melvin’s death on Aug. 13, 1993. Wanda then moved to Washington to be near family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin McGehee, her second husband David Johnson, and her grandson, Richard McGehee. She is survived by her son, Doug McGehee and wife Cheryl, her daughter Debbie Fjellman and husband Greg; three grandchildren, Melanie Pitcher, Brandon Fjellman and Courtney Heaps, and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Bob Brooks and John Brooks; and a sister, Betty Petelle.
