James Temple

James C. “Jim” Temple was born September 16, 1926 in Riverdale, Maryland to Hermine (Litchfield) and James Carter Temple Sr. He died December 18, 2017 in Enumclaw, Washington at the age of 91. Jim was raised in Tiverton, Rhode Island along with his older sister Hazel. He grew up sailing and loved the water. He joined the Navy at 19 and served during WWII. After the war he moved to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho with his dad and sister. They owned drive in theaters in Coeur d’Alene and Meridian, Idaho, which is where Jim met Norene Hulse. Jim and Norene were married December 4, 1953. Together they had three children: Debbie, Dan and Dianne. Jim worked as a land surveyor for Boise National Forest until retiring at age 62. His interests included gardening, woodworking, computers, and fixing things. He could repair almost anything.

Jim is survived by his wife of 64 years Norene; son Dan Temple and wife Caroline; daughter Dianne Martin and husband Mel; 6 grandkids; 5 great grandkids; niece Susan Ellestad and husband Larry; and many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his daughter Debbie Ransom and sister Hazel Temple Krider.
